The Board of
Supervisors of the County of Inyo, State of California, met in special session
at the hour of 8:00 a.m., on Tuesday,
October 22, 2002, in the Board of Supervisors Room, County Administrative
Center, Independence, with the following Supervisors present:
Chairperson Linda Arcularius presiding, Julie Bear, Carroll M. Hambleton,
Jr., and Michael Dorame. Supervisor
Lent was absent.

Public Comment
|
The Chairperson announced the public comment
period. Mr. Matlick, Bishop
Resident read into the record, a letter that he had written and sent two
years ago, regarding the Long Term Water Agreement.

Closed Session
|
The Chairperson recessed open session at 8:25
a.m., to convene in closed session to discuss Agenda Items No. 2. CONFERENCE
WITH LEGAL COUNSEL EXISTING LITIGATION (Pursuant to Government Code
Section 54956.9(a) - Sierra Club v. City of Los Angeles, Department of
Water and Power, Inyo County Superior Court Case No. SICVCV01-29768; No.
3. CONFERENCE
WITH LEGAL COUNSEL EXISTING/ANTICIPATED LITIGATION (Pursuant to Government
Code Section 54956.9(a)(c) – One Case - Irrigation of Laws Ranch Dispute between LADWP and
County of Inyo, Adjudication of Dispute Pursuant to the Long Term Water
Agreement entered June 1997 as Stipulation and Order of Judgment, Inyo
County Superior Court, Case 12908; No. 4.
CONFERENCE
WITH LEGAL COUNSEL EXISTING/ANTICIPATED LITIGATION (Pursuant to Government
Code Section 54956.9(a)(c) – One Case - LORP Pumpback Station
Dispute between LADWP and County of Inyo, Adjudication of Dispute Pursuant
to the Long Term Water Agreement entered June 1997 as Stipulation and
Order of Judgment, Inyo County Superior Court, Case 12908; and No. 5. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL EXISTING/ANTICIPATED LITIGATION

Big Pine Ditch Dispute between LADWP and the County of Inyo, Adjudication

Water/Direction to Standing
Comm. Reps.
|
The Chairperson recessed closed session at 4:30
p.m., to reconvene in open session to provide direction to the County’s
representatives to the Standing Committee regarding the items to be
discussed at the October 23, 2002, meeting.
Mr. Greg James, Inyo County Water Director, provided the Board with
a copy of the finalized agenda, reviewing Staff’s recommendations
regarding the various items, with the Board concurring with Staff’s
recommendations.

Report on Closed Session
|
County Counsel reported there were no items
discussed in closed session, which were required by law to be reported on
in open session.

Adjournment
|
The Chairperson adjourned the special meeting at
4:40 p.m.
