Moved
by Supervisor Bilyeu and seconded by Supervisor Cash to approve the
minutes of the Board of Supervisors meetings as follows: A) regular
meeting of July 19, 2005; B) regular meeting of July 26, 2005, C) special
meeting of August 1, 2005; and D) regular meeting of August 2, 2005.
Motion
carried unanimously.
The
Board Members reported on their activities, including a Leadership
Institute attended on a scholarship by Supervisor Cash, in Yosemite
Valley, an upcoming DFG Hatchery Meeting to be held at the Mammoth
Community Center at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 11th, an
article in the LA Times regarding the Charleston View Development, and an
Eastern Sierra Council of Governments goals, objectives and strategy
planning meeting also scheduled for Thursday, at 6:00 p.m., in Bishop.
The
Chairperson recessed open session at 3:35 p.m., to convene in closed
session, with all Board Members present to discuss Agenda Item No. 23.

WITH LEGAL COUNSEL EXISTING LITIGATION (Pursuant to Government Code
Section 54956.9(a) - Sierra
Club v. City of Los Angeles, Department of Water and Power, Inyo County
Superior Court Case No. SICVCV01-29768 (1).
The
Chairperson recessed closed session at 5:10 p.m. to reconvene in open
session, to receive a report on closed session.
County Counsel reported there were no items discussed in closed
session, which were required by law to be reported on in open session.
The Chairperson announced that today’s meeting was being adjourned in the memory of Maxine Ordway, and adjourned the meeting at 5:10 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2005, in the Board of Supervisors Room, at the County Administrative Center, in Independence.
