Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Inyo, State of California, met in special session at the hour of 8:00 a.m., on Friday, July 7, 2006, in the Board of Supervisors Room, County Administrative Center, Independence, with the following Supervisors present:   Vice-Chairperson Jim Bilyeu presiding as Chairperson, Linda Arcularius, Ted Williams, and Richard Cervantes. Supervisor Cash was absent.   Supervisor Bilyeu provided the Invocation, and Supervisor Arcularius led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Public Comment

The Chairperson announced the public comment period and there was no one from the public wishing to address the Board.

Fish and Game Workshop

The Chairperson recessed open session at 8:05 a.m., to convene in a workshop with Mr. Sonke Mastrup, Deputy Director, Wildlife and Inland Fisheries Division and Ms. Bernadette Fees, Assistant Deputy Director, Education and Outreach of the California Department of Fish and Game and members of the public to discuss the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery and other DFG programs, which affect Inyo County and the Eastern Sierra.   The discussions included the Eastern Sierra Audubon Society talking about Owens Lake wildlife projects, the budgeting for the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery, hatchery operations and productions, water quality and quantity at Fish Springs Hatchery, the Department’s intent for the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery, the Department’s partnership with the Friends of the Mt. Whitney Fish Hatchery and the educational and outreach programs being sponsored by the Department.

Adjournment

The Chairperson adjourned the special meeting at 10:35 a.m.
