Modernized FEMA 100-year Floodplain Maps

The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has recently "modernized" the set of maps that outline the location of the 100-year flood plain, and is seeking public comments on the modernized set of maps. There have been some changes to the location of the 100-year floodplain, with some areas being dropped out of the floodplain and others added.

The Final FEMA Maps are now available for public view. The new flood plain maps will become effective August 16, 2011.
