Inyo County, California, seeks experienced attorneys to provide a variety of public defender services under contract to the County. Using a conflict coverage system, contracts may include services in all areas of juvenile and adult indigent legal services including felony appointments, misdemeanors, and juvenile dependency and delinquency. This is a rare and often desired opportunity to live in the majestic Eastern Sierra. Leave crowds and congestion behind and enjoy clean air, clear lakes and streams, infinite open space, and four-season outdoor adventure. Contracts are staggered and become available on an on-going, rolling basis. Persons interested in being considered for one of these exciting career opportunities are invited to submit a cover letter and resume detailing their qualifications and experience for the coverage schedule(s) they seek. In addition, the cover letter must indicate the applicant's ability to enter into the Standard Contract, and which coverage schedule(s) the applicant is interested in assuming. Submittals should be mailed to: Office of the County Administrator, Attn: Public Defender, P.O. Drawer N, Independence, CA 93526. Interviews and contract negotiations will commence with the most qualified respondents on a continuous basis as contract vacancies near, and until all contract needs are met.
