Property Releases
The Inyo County Sheriff's Office obtains property through evidence and recovered stolen or found property. Once items are booked into the property section, only the property deputy may release the items. This is done during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) and an appointment is necessary (no exceptions). You may be required to provide proof of ownership for items you retrieve.
You will be required to show photo I.D. to retrieve property.
If your property includes firearms you will also need to fill out paperwork for the Department of Justice
