F.U.N. Team

Description:The F.amilies U.nderstanding N.utrition & fitness Team is a parent group sponsored by First 5 to promote early child health.

Reading Railroad

Description: Free literacy program that recycles gently used books throughout the county through "railroad depots" located in local businesses.

Parent/Child Classes

Description: Often funded through our new monthly Strategic Grant process, the First 5 Inyo Commission offers free opportunities for parent child education and interaction.

New Parent Kits

Description: Through Northern Inyo Hospital and several OBGYN offices in our county, First 5 distributes free New Parent Kits to expectant and new mothers and fathers. First 5 also has kits in stock at our 568 W. Line Street office adjacent to WIC, so all are welcome to stop by and request a kit as well. Resources within the kit include a celebrity hosted DVD that covers what to expect in your child's first year, a resource book with health and developmental guidelines, baby's first book, and much more!
