NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING and

NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE ADOPTION

 

            NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the Inyo County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing and consider enactment of the following ordinance:

“An Ordinance of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Inyo, State of California Amending the Inyo County Code to Add Chapter 5.45 to the Inyo County Code Regarding the Regulation of Tobacco Product Sales and Requiring the Licensure of Tobacco Retailers”

The public hearing and first reading of the proposed ordinance will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020 in the Board of Supervisors Room, County Administrative Center, 224 N. Edwards St., Independence, with adoption scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the same location. A copy of the full text of the proposed ordinance is available for review within the Board Clerk’s Office, County Administrative Center, Independence.

Summary of ordinance: The proposed ordinance would amend Inyo County Code by adding Chapter 5.45 regarding the regulation of tobacco product sales, including requiring a Tobacco Retailer’s License, banning the sale of flavored electronic smoking products, and instituting minimum package size and minimum price requirements for cigarettes, little cigarettes, and cigars.

Written comments may be filed with the Inyo County Board of Supervisors by delivery to the Assistant Clerk of the Board, County of Inyo Administrative Center, 224 N. Edwards St., Independence, CA 93526, by mailing to the Inyo County Board of Supervisors, P.O. Box N, Independence, CA 93526, or by email to the Assistant Clerk of the Board, dellis@inyocounty.us, so that the comments are received by the Board prior to the conclusion of the hearing. If you wish to challenge any finding, determination, or decision made regarding this project in court, you may be limited to raising only the issues you or someone else raises at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered prior to the hearing.
