Campgrounds
INYO COUNTY CAMPGROUNDS ARE OPEN YEAR ROUND
Our Campgrounds are dog friendly.
Campfires are allowed in the fire rings only.
Reservations are available as well as first come, first served sites.
Diaz Lake - Three miles south of Lone Pine on U.S. 395. 80-acre lake.
Portuguese Joe - Via U.S. 395, turn west in Lone Pine on Whitney Portal Road
Independence Creek - Via U.S. 395, turn west in Independence on Market Street
**Independence Creek Campground sites 16–29 are closed until further notice due to a damaged bridge that provides access to this area. For the safety of all visitors, these sites will remain inaccessible while repairs are underway.**
Taboose Creek - Via U.S. 395, 14-miles north of Independence
Tinnemaha Creek - Via U.S. 395, 19-miles north of Independence
Baker Creek - Via U.S. 395, just north of the Town of Big Pine
Pleasant Valley- Via U.S. 396, 6 miles NW of Bishop
CONCESSIONAIRE OPERATED CAMPGROUNDS
Millpond - Via U.S. 395, 6 miles NW of Bishop same entrance as Millpond Recreation Area
Glacier View - One-half mile north of Big Pine, on U.S. 395
Brown's Town - One- mile south of Bishop on U.S. 395
Tecopa Park & Campground - - Via State highway 127, 5-miles south of Shoshone
Inyo County offers a discounted Senior Permit valid for 15 or 30 days. To qualify, the permit holder must be at least 62 years of age or have a valid disabled person’s placard or California State Park disabled discount pass. Permits are issued at the discretion of Inyo County Parks and Recreation Management and may be revoked at any time.
These permits can be obtained at the campground from Park Staff or at the Public Works office in Independence, located upstairs in the Annex building. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. for lunch.
