Risk Management

The Risk Management division strives to understand, manage, and control uncertainty, or "risk," to provide and encourage a safe and functional environment for our employees, our volunteers, and the communities we serve. Unforeseen losses can interrupt services to citizens, and the division identifies, assesses, and mitigates claims and potential risks to minimize impacts to County objectives. This division handles notices and investigations of claims against the County, employee injuries and illnesses (workers’ compensation), and contractual risk transfer (contract reviews for products, services, and special event uses of county property). Risk Management also performs loss control and safety audits to support all departments in protecting County employees and assets, and Risk acquires and manages the County’s insurance programs. The Assistant Director serves as the ADA and Return to Work Coordinator for the County. These roles assist citizens and employees with disabilities to access county programs, services, and opportunities. More information is avialable on this website. Thank you for your interest in Risk Management.
