On December 15, 2017, Inyo County was awarded a Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant from the California Department of Transportation in the amount of $236,000 for the preparation of a corridor study, along U.S. 395, near the communities of Olancha and Cartago.
On February 20, 2018, a presentation was made to the Inyo County Board of Supervisors requesting that the Board adopt a Resolution authorizing the Planning Director, to execute agreements between Caltrans and Inyo County for the Caltrans Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant.
On July 3, 2018, a presentation was made by Planning Department Staff to the Board of Supervisors requesting the Board approve a contract with Alta Planning + Design, Inc., to provide consultant services for the Olancha Cartago Corridor Study (OCCS). The Board directed the Planning Department to approve the Contract between the County of Inyo and Alta Planning + Design.
On November 1, 2018 the Planning Department will hold a visioning meeting at the Road House Café in Olancha, to consider options for creating vibrant streets for residents, businesses, and visitors in Olancha and Cartago over the coming decades.
