Registered Environmental Health Specialists and associated staff conduct regular inspections of permitted facilities, investigate complaints, and strive to determine the causes of environmental health-related illnesses and develop strategies to prevent them. To foster this mission, our water quality laboratory conducts bacteriological and other yearly analyses of over 2500 samples.
Our water lab works with everyone from the private and public sectors to test only bacteriologic water sampling. Samples can be dropped off in the Independence lab or the refrigerator in the front lobby of the Bishop county building. Water samples can be complicated and we ask if you have never sampled your water before to give the lab a call and get the information you need before proceeding. Call the lab at 760-878-0234.
