District 1 is represented by Supervisor Trina Orrill, who is serving her first term on the Board of Supervisors. 

Born at Glendale Memorial Hospital in Southern California, Trina Orrill spent her early childhood in Highland Park before her family relocated to Bishop in 1977, when she was five years old. Alongside her two brothers, she grew up in the Bishop community that would ultimately shape her life, values, and commitment to public service. She graduated from Bishop Union High School in 1990.

In June of 1995, she married her husband, Richard. Together they raised two children who have each forged their own successful paths: Nicholas, 26, an aerospace engineer living on the East Coast, and Emma, 23, a student at Sonoma State University studying animal sciences.

After completing trade school, Trina became a licensed manicurist through the California State Board of Consumer Affairs. She has maintained her license continuously and has been successfully self‑employed in the industry for 28 years. In 2018, she and Richard expanded their professional endeavors by launching and operating a storage and logistics business, which they continue to run today.

Trina’s first brush with politics came in high school during an unsuccessful run for class president – an experience she didn’t revisit until years later, when her children were attending Bishop Elementary. Wanting to contribute to their school community, she joined the site council, a step that soon led her to the Bishop School District Board. Recognizing the importance of strong advocacy for both students and parents, she embraced the role wholeheartedly. Two years into her first term, the district unified with Bishop High School, forming the Bishop Unified School District. She ultimately served a total of 12 years on the board, an experience she describes as both challenging and deeply rewarding.

Trina’s public service priorities reflect her long-standing commitment to the well‑being of her community. She is especially passionate about supporting safe communities – ensuring strong fire services, first responders, law enforcement, and essential infrastructure. She is equally dedicated to protecting and uplifting the community’s most vulnerable members, including seniors and youth.

At the core of Trina’s leadership philosophy are the values she considers non‑negotiable: honesty and integrity. She believes that anyone entrusted with representing others must embody both. Loyalty, respect for others, and a strong sense of fairness also guide her decisions and interactions, both personally and professionally.
