Our Mission Statement
The Clerk Recorder's mission is to serve Inyo County by providing the public with prompt and professional service. To preserve and protect our historical cultural records. Maintain & secure all vital records, and ready to serve our county with all official document recordings.
NOTICE: In-house research will be closed from October 7 through November 19, 2024 while Election ballot processing is being conducted. Minimal access may be permitted upon appointment.
New Fee Schedule rates will become effective on July, 1, 2024. See our Fee Schedule page for current fee schedule and new fee schedule. The new rates will be applied to all transactions processed in our office on and after July 1st. Postmarked dates will not be accepted.
Clerk Recorder’s Office hours of operation for in-person services are Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm (closed 12pm-1pm for lunch).
Phone hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm (closed 12pm-1pm for lunch). If you call during business hours and we are unable to take your call, please leave us a message and we will call you back.

Our office handles property records, marriage licenses and ceremonies, birth and death certificates, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) filings, Fictitious Business Names filings, political reform act filings, Notary Public filings, process servers, and many other services.
