COVID-19 Prevention Procedures
The written policy requires some updates, and these are in development. Overall, if you're sick, like the flu, stay home until you start feeling better, and use your sick time. Get vaccinated to shorten your recovery time if you get COVID, if your doctor says the vaccine is ok for you. The newest vaccine should be available in September 2024.
Good news! The Federal Government will make free tests available again for the upcoming holiday season. See: COVIDTests.gov.
See More Info below regarding our written document and policy and procedures.
The latest Board-approved version of the Inyo County Employee COVID-19 Prevention Procedures was adopted by the Board on 3/21/2023, in compliance with Cal/OSHA's nonemergency standard of 2/3/2023, which is in effect until 2/2025, with some updates since then.
Effective 1/2024, there was a change in how outbreaks are calculated and when to isolate. Outbreaks are calculated using a seven day base instead of a 14 day base. Effective 5/2024, the isolation and testing rules were discontinued. However, the rest of the rules and our CPP continue through 2/2025.
Effective 2/2025, we will probably add a paragraph about COVID and other similar infectious diseases to the IIPP and eliminate the Covid Prevention Plan separate document. We're working on it.
