Styrofoam packing peanuts: can be taken to the FedUp Store 1335 Rocking W Dr. in Bishop (in the Rite-Aid shopping center) 872-4560.
Wood (Gate and Disposal Fee Applies)
Wood material drop-off locations are available at all Bishop-Sunland and Big Pine Transfer Station.

Accepted for recycling at all manned facilities.

Carpet Recycling
Inyo County participates with Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE)
The carpet recycling bin is located at the Bishop-Sunland Landfill and is loaded by the customer, and is now free to the customer. Any load that comes to the Bishop-Sunland Landfill with carpet needs to recycle the carpeting and carpet padding, otherwise a $50 per cubic yard fee will be charged.
Mattress Recycling
Mattress Recycling is available at all manned facilities.
Business Recycling
In 2012 California adopted AB-341 which requires that any business that generates 4 cubic-yards of trash per week must have a recycling program. Businesses can contact their local waste hauler to set up a recycling service for their business, or separate, collect and bring the recyclables to their local landfill.
Apartments and Multifamily Recycling
In 2012 California adopted AB-341 which requires that any multifamily complex with 5 or more units must have a recycling program. Apartment complex managers can contact Their local waste hauler to set up a recycling service for their Apartment complex, or separate, collect and bring the recyclables to their local landfill.
