Denelle Carrington
Denelle Carrington is the Acting Inyo County Administrative Officer. She was appointed Assistant CAO in August 2024. Carrington has worked for Inyo County since 2000, starting as an Office Technician with Health & Human Services and rising to the position of HHS Fiscal Director after a few short years. In 2014, she transitioned into Administration where she served as the Senior Budget Analyst for nine years – serving as a valued and integral part of the Budget Team responsible for compiling the County’s annual spending plan – before being promoted in 2023 to the Assistant Director of Budget and General Services.

CAO Recommended Budgets
Each fiscal year, the County Administrative Officer works closely with the Auditor-Controller and Assistant Director of Budget and General Services to balance the County Budget. This includes months of meetings with department heads and their fiscal staff and results in the preparation of the CAO's Recommended Budget for the Board of Supervisors to review and approve.
More information on the budget process, and current and past CAO Recommended Budgets, can be found at the link below.

Board of Supervisors Meetings
The County Administrator serves as the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. With some exceptions, the Board meets every Tuesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Board Chambers inside the County Administrative Center, 224 N. Edwards St., Independence, CA 93526.
