Property Releases
The Inyo County Sheriff’s Office obtains property through evidence retrieval and recovered stolen or found property. Once items are booked into the property section, only the property deputy may release the items. Property release requests are handled by appointment only (no exceptions) during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.).
You will be required to show photo I.D. to retrieve property.
If your property includes firearms you will also need to fill out paperwork for the Department of Justice.
