Probation
Founded in 1912, the Inyo County Probation Department is staffed by personnel committed to the safety of the community through the provision of evidence based supervision and case management strategies designed to enhance the rehabilitation of adult and youthful offenders. The Probation Department is a law enforcement agency, whose primary functions include the supervision of both adult and youthful offenders; service to the Superior Court; victim assistance including the enforcement of victim restitution orders; and the provision of early intervention programs for pre-delinquent youth. Those functions are summarized within the Probation Department motto, "Community, Pride and Progress!"
