All of the above active waste disposal sites are operated by the Inyo County Recycling & Waste Management. Just click the link below to be taken to their page.
There are numerous inventoried closed, illegal and/or abandoned solid waste sites throughout Inyo County. Inyo County Environmental Health Services regulates these facilities, working with property owners to remediate these sites.
Disposal of solid waste outside of a permitted solid waste facility is illegal, whether on private or public property. ICEHS takes illegal dumping seriously, and public cooperation is appreciated. If you're out and about and come across a pile of illegally dumped trash, give us a call at (760) 873-7866, we'll get it cleaned up, and try to find the culprit.
Helpful information may include license plate numbers, pictures, and dates, times, and locations. Don't approach an illegal dumper in the act or try and chase them down for a plate number. Gather as much information as you can while staying safe, and then give us a call. We'll do the rest.
