Local Agencies to Host Procurement Workshop

 

EVENT WILL INCLUDE TIPS AND TRICKS FOR SUCCESSFULLY 

BIDDING ON GOVERNMENT PROJECTS

 

The Eastern Sierra Business Resource Center (BRC) has partnered with several local agencies to host a Procurement Workshop for Building Contractors to connect local construction businesses to upcoming work opportunities, such as public works construction and renovation projects. 

 

The workshop is open to all contractors, subcontractors, specialty trade professionals, suppliers, and vendors in the construction industry who work on projects in the Owens Valley.  The event will be held on July 23, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. at the BRC, 269 N. Main St., Bishop, following an optional meet-and-greet with local agencies starting at 3 p.m. Dinner will be served and there is no cost to attend.

 

The goal of this event is to help construction businesses successfully bid on local government projects – ensuring that local tax dollars are spent locally and stay in the Eastern Sierra.  Caltrans, the County of Inyo, Bishop Unified School District, Owens Valley Unified School District, and Lone Pine Unified School District are participating.  

 

The agenda for the workshop will include an overview of each agency’s requirements for contractors, such as minimum bonding requirements; an overview of upcoming construction and renovation projects that will be open for bidding; tips and tricks for successful bidding and compliance with public works rules; and one-on-one meetings with local agencies to talk about upcoming projects.
